About Lee Aguinaldo:

A descendant of Emilio Aguinaldo - a military leader, and the first President of the Philippines, Lee Aguinaldo born in New York, USA (1933) is a self-taught artist. He attended military school in the US and worked for his family business afterward. His fascination with the modernist movement in the US made him do art. He was influenced by the works of Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Ad Reinhart, and later, Robert Rauschenberg.

He was known for his "Flick" paintings inspired by Pollock, the pop-influenced Galumph series, and the "Linear" minimalist series. Financial problems did not stop Lee from being an artist. His passion and dedication pushed through until the end even up to the point when his electricity was cut by Meralco and he did not stop making art.
