Collection: Kalookan-Köln
I was born into a world of images - my father, a Photographer from Kalookan, and my mother, a Photographer from Köln. Their Lenses shaped my way of seeing, but my hands sought texture, pattern and material. From this inheritance , I found my voice as a textile artist, printmaker and designer.
My Practice moves between repetition and variation, between tradition and experimentation. Printmaking grounds me in process and patience, while textile allow me to weave stories of migration, memory, and identity. Design provides the bridge — making my work not only visual, but also tactile, functional and accessible.
The dialogue between Kalookan and Köln runs through my work : contrast of rhythm, density, silence, and structures. In my pieces, I try to hold both at once, layering impressions like fabric, carving stories of lino, and shaping forms that belong to more than one place.
Ultimately, my art is an act of translation — between two parents, two cities and two ways of seeing — stitched into a practice that is wholly my own.
